The World of Satoshi Itoh: Where he amalgamates the traditional beauty of Japan inherited from ancient days into a stylish, decorative beauty acceptable even in the modern age to create the new elegance. The exclusive, elegant and fantastic world of his is highly evaluated not only in Japan but also overseas. Itoh takes motives mainly from Waka in Kokinshu (Waka is the Japanese traditional short poem and Kokinshu is an anthology of these poems comiled by Imperial command in the early 10th century) making full use of the traditional, versatile Japanese painting techniques to complete his works. While placing importance on the traditional beauty, he makes the composition from the unique point of view of his own to create the elegant and refined world of beauty reminding people the dynamic era of Hiian (the era ranged from the early 8th to late 12th century, when various Japanese arts were established independent of the Chinese culture). The emotion of the dynamic nobles has been inherited naturally to us, the present-day Japanese, to flow in the depth of our heart. Year by year snow falls, flowers bloom, moon shines, winds blow - Itoh has raised the Japan's most exclusive natural beauty of the so-called "snow-moon-flower" into a symbolic world of beauty in his works, which will touch our inherited consciousness of beauty to strike our hearts by itself. | Original Japanese Art Collection by Satoshi Itoh - For details Satoshi Itoh Japanese Art, please contact us.
