Detailed Description
The Japanese universe in the Japanese decorative crests has been inspired by the superior technology and creative sensitivity of Japanese kimono and other lifestyle devices, and is reflected in all sorts of lifestyle culture in Japan. It is produced by the background such as Japanese beautiful nature, prosperous four seasons, and related various shrine rituals and mode of livings. Japanese culture is expressed by the word, “Mottainai” meaning respect for any creature. “Mottainai” spirit is the basic philosophy of Japanese manufacturing and designs. It goes beyond the 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) of the environmental issues by adding one more R (respect the resources).

Therefore, Japanese designs are mostly green and eco-friendly products. We appreciate and create products with vintage materials or natural materials with less waste. Mother Nature is playing a large role in the Japanese culture. Japanese people have always lived together with nature appreciating the natural resources of the Four Seasons. Traditional Japanese culture is a green way of life and Japanese designs are produced to avoid the waste.
Auspicious Clouds - Endless field of clouds
Cloud designs are very popular and often combined with the various other patterns
like geometrical designs. “Auspicious Clouds” is also called “Flowing Clouds”,
and they are treated as a lucky design among the celestial phenomena patterns
as in China. Interestingly, it is not popular in the Western culture to standardize
a non-definite shape such as a “cloud” as a stylized design.
In this “Auspicious Clouds” design, same pattern is divided between the existence
or non existence of the external form, and is layout like a field of clouds. By
replacing the difficult meaning of the “Auspicious Clouds” for the Westerners
to the different stories, it transforms itself to an international story.
There is a endless field of clouds viewing from the window of an aircraft …
it is my challenge to transform the Japanese celebratory elements to
the international romantic elements.
