Antique "obi" Japanese decorations

Japanese Decorations and Japanese Furniture

The long, decorative "obi" sash was originally intended for wearing with traditional Japanese dress, but has since moved into the Japanese decoration placement. In the past the fabric was worn around a kimono and secured with a large bow in the back. The "obi"as home decor can be draped over a tansu chest or other Japanese furniture for visual interest. Place it asymmetrically across a coffee table for an unexpected effect. Or fold and wrap around a bottle of wine or sake for a dramatic table layout. Whichever you decide, you can always reposition your "obi" in your home to add new appeal.e

We also carry other multi-purpose Japanese decorations like our hand-blown glassware. You will love this formal, unique collection that can be put to use even when you are not serving food. Our "Omoi" glasses can be used as wine glasses or ice cream/fruit serving bowls. Additionally, the glasses can be used for ambience by floating a candle or small flower in them and placing randomly on your table. The "Mizuawa" hand-blown glass bowl is another great example of versatility. It can also be used as a place for floating candles and/or flowers. Or simply make it your everyday centerpiece full of fresh fruit.

Japanese Furniture has many choices

At Boutique-HospitalityJapan.com, the variety of uses for our Japanese decorations is just the beginning. Let us introduce you to some of the options you have when decorating with Japanese furniture.

Many of our stools have removable seat cushions that allow you to redecorate easily and quickly. Changing the seats' fabric pattern can update and freshen up a room's feel without the high cost of total remodeling. See our "Kisuke" Collection for 6 different cushion selections by clicking on the navagation on the left.

Another versatile hand-crafted piece available is the multi-purpose stool from the "Inose" collection. This custom made item can either be a stool or a table. Available in bright colors, this modern stool suggests the traditional with its bamboo decoration.
